Makeup is pretty magical. Use it one way and you can look instantly older, the other, and you can shave 10 years off.  And if you’re particularly interested in how to keep skin looking young, you’ve come to the right place.

Here, we share 4 makeup tips for mature skin, and how to create a youthful, glowing base that works for any look.

Step 1: Prime

Primer is not only an essential step for longer-lasting makeup, but it has a myriad of benefits of mature skin. It helps to smooth uneven texture, including blurring the appearance of wrinkles and pores, for a more flawless makeup application.

If you’re looking for the best primer mature skin, our  Gold Elixir Priming Potion  is a tried and tested favourite. It’s infused with real gold flecks for added radiance, while Hyaluronic Acid and plus Q10 to instantly plump and lift the skin.

Top Tip:  Wait one minute after applying your primer before applying makeup. This will allow it to dry down and properly adhere to the skin for a better result.

Step 2: Correct

If you’re wondering  how to make eyes look younger,  colour correction makeup is key. Using a colour correcting concealer beneath the eyes can help to camouflage dark circles, awakening the eyes to look bigger, brighter and more youthful.

The best colour corrector for dark circles, is one with an orange undertone, as it counteracts blue and purple tones. We love our Salmon  Cover Up Under Eye Corrector Pen, which has a super blendable formula that won’t cake. It’s also infused with Hyaluronic Acid to plump the skin and ensure your coverage won’t settle into creases.

The same formula is used for our Green  Cover Up Redness Corrector  Pen. This one is great for neutralising any areas of redness, including burst capillaries and blemishes.

By disguising both darkness and redness, you’re already halfway to creating a natural makeup look for mature skin.

Top Tip:  Apply the Salmon  Cover Up Under Eye Corrector Pen  to the tops of the eyelids as well as underneath the eyes, to disguise the darkness of veins. And if you’re an eyeliner lover, make sure you use a fine-tipped pen like our new  Absolute Micro Water-Resistant Eyeliner Pen, for a thin line that keeps eyes big and bright.

Step 3: Base

Finding the  best foundation for mature skin can be tricky. Along with finding your ideal coverage and colour match, keep an eye out for an anti-ageing foundation that also contains firming ingredients.

Our  Firming Age Revive Foundation  evens the skin tone and diminishes imperfections, while Black Tea Leaf extract helps to prevent wrinkles and fine lines.

So not only does your skin immediately look youthful and glowing, but the formula will work to deeply nourish, plump and encourage cell renewal simultaneously.

Top Tip:  For a flawless finish, buff into the skin with a super soft, wide-end brush like our  Complexion Perfection Kabuki Brush  and make sure to blend all the way down your neck and your nose.

Step 4: Set

So now that you’ve primed, corrected and found the best foundation to cover wrinkles, it’s time to lock it all in with a setting powder.

The best face powder for wrinkles usually comes in the form of a pressed powder. This is because it has a softer finish and doesn’t settle into lines like a loose formula might.

To set your base, press your powder into your foundation, focusing on areas prone to oil production. Our  Firming Age Revive Pressed Powder  extends the wear of foundation while minimising shine and comes with a handy sponge applicator. It’s also formulated with Vitamin C, for a brighter and youthful-looking skin.

Top Tip:  When using pressed powder for mature skin, less is more. Always start with a light hand and build up as needed. The formula of our  Firming Age Revive Pressed Powder  also layers well for touch-ups throughout the day.
